Repel Birds Naturally - Optical Fire Gel Deterrent - Repel Pigeons & Gulls
What is Bird-Free Gel?
Bird-Free is an optical gel repellent is designed to keep all birds away, especially pigeons and seagulls. It is a preparation containing food-grade natural oils that keeps birds off all structures without harming them. The gel emits ultraviolet light that is perceived as fire by birds.
The visual deterrence is reinforced by the selection of natural oils which are abhorrent to birds’ senses of taste and smell. Applied in dishes that can be glued, it is very discrete and causes no damage to the structures or buildings:

Being oil-based, this bird deterrent gel is not affected by temperature changes, rain, wind or snow. To prevent Bird-Free repellent gel from evaporating or being affected by water, herbal oils have been added.
Bird deterrent gel can be used outdoors and indoors, on any kind of building or structure including trees. Pest Control operators use the bird repellent gel in areas such as underground car parks, airports, military installations, railway stations, historic buildings. It is ideal for areas difficult to access:

Because the bird fire deterrent gel is made of food grade ingredients it is completely safe to use and can be applied by a responsible handyman or a DIY enthusiast. Birds will completely desert a habitat, even one they have been using for years, once Bird Free has been applied.
The dishes of Bird Free are 65mm in diameter and 8mm high, making them, in most cases, invisible from street level.

Follow up inspection on 08/11/2016: Still no birds and no droopings!:
On 8 November 2016, three years after installation, Philip Edwards of Edwards' Interiors commented: "Pigeons used to sit on our chimney every morning and would cause a mess in the yard behind the shop. Since Bird Free was installed on the chimney in October 2013, I can confirm that I have never seen a pigeon sitting on the chimney, and we no longer suffer from all their mess in the back yard."
Bird Free ws introduced into the UK in March 2011. It is now being used widely throughout Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and the Americas. It has been applied, for example, at a number of key European sites, including Paddington and King's Cross stations in London, Glasgow City Chambers, Volkswagen and Airbus plants in Germany, the Chateau de Chambord and Lutyens' Thiepval Memorial in France, the Palazzo Venezia in Rome, the Vondelpark in Amsterdam and the Calais Chamber of Commerce, where Bird Free is keeping the gulls away.
Using Birdfree to prevent Seagulls from nesting
If fitting Birdfree for repelling seagulls, it should be done before the nesting season (begining of April). Large nesting gulls will be very persistent if disturbed and more product should be used, and dishes should also be raised from the surface, as illustrated below.
Purchasing Bird Free Gel
Bird-Free repellent fire gel is supplied in boxes of 15 ready-to-use clear plastic dishes, which are keeping the gel and should be glued in the areas previously occupied by birds.
