Owl Pest Control - Service Technician (General Operative)

The Position:

We’re looking for a Service Technician.

  • We offer a vehicle, phone, overtime.
  • We also offer bonuses and commissions.


  • Full clean B driving licence
  • Leaving Cert. ordinary. Must be confident to communicate & deal directly with customers, orally & through hand written reports.
  • Strong DIY & Fitness essential. Punctuality, organization, efficiency.
  • Must obtain pest control licence within 9 months (statutory). Evening study & quiz work required during the first 2 months and formal training/diploma. Full training will be provided.


  • Investigating pest infestations; site inspections & treatments in residential & commercial properties.
  • Maintain pest-free conditions, advise & reassure customers, figure out pest prevention solutions.
  • 37.5 hrs/week but includes early/evenings calls. Saturday shift every 4 weeks. Occasional weekend/night emergencies.

The Location:

Owl Pest Control is based off the M50 in Tallaght, Dublin. We only operate in Dublin and Leinster so travel distances are limited.

Storekeeper / Trade Counter Sales

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, administering the operations of the trade counter and warehouse. Receiving, verifying stock and selling merchandise. Providing information to and assisting customers (counter + phone + emails). Preparing purchase orders. Maintaining inventory and stock levels. Maintaining files and preparing reports.


Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Oversees and administers the operations of a store. Receives, identifies and verifies merchandise. Provides information to and assists customers.
  2. Maintaining inventory.Using inventory management software. Preparing purchase requisitions for the replacement of stock. Contacting suppliers or searches catalogues to determine price and additional details concerning new items.
  3. Making claims with transport companies if delivered merchandise has been damaged.
  4. Maintaining files appropriate to the activities of the unit, such as invoices, quotations, order number, receiving date, shipping date, etc. Preparing reports.
  5. Responsible for cash, credit card payments and records, making cash deposits.
  6. Verifying ledgers, statements and supporting documents.
  7. Communicating with others in order to receive or transmit information.
  8. Handling and stores merchandise or special products that require some knowledge of spontaneous combustion, toxicity, fragility, rapid deterioration, contamination, etc.
  9. Arranging stock according to requirements and established procedures (e.g. “First In First Out”, repacking, etc.). In case of emergency or in order to replace outdated material, suggests substitutes available in the store.
  10. Controlling and carrying out the lending and renting of tools, equipment, furnishings, and devices. Ensuring that they are kept in good condition and that they are repaired or replaced as necessary.
  11. Overseeing the delivery of merchandise following an established schedule and coordinates special deliveries by transmitting the necessary details to the persons concerned.
  12. Maintaining equipment and instruments. Ensures cleanliness of work areas (trade counter and warehouse).
  13. Using equipment necessary for the handling, shifting, or moving of material, such as a hand truck, pallet truck, ladders, etc. Using office equipment such as a computerised information system, calculator, photocopier, printer, credit card machine, etc.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Requires a good working knowledge of methods and procedures commonly used in receiving, storing and issuing supplies and related inventory and record keeping work.

- Professional oral and phone manner is essential.

- Minimum level of education:  Leaving Certificate.

- Proficiency in Computers & ideally experience in using stock management software

- Must have excellent organisational and communication skills (incl. fluent English).

- Able to work independently and as part of a team

- Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role essential

- Must be within commutable distance to Dublin

- Must be energetic and have a pro-active,“Can Do” attitude.
