A Vital Role for Public Health
Pests aren’t just a nuisance — they can spread diseases, damage buildings, and put people’s health at risk.
As a Pest Control Technician, you’ll play a key role in protecting public health by:
✅ Identifying pest problems early
✅ Putting in place effective treatments
✅ Helping customers prevent future infestations
You’ll work across a wide range of places: homes, offices, restaurants, warehouses, shops, schools, hospitals, and more.
What’s a Typical Day Like?
Every day brings something different! You won’t be stuck behind a desk; you will face diverse challenges and showcase your problem-solving skills across a broad spectrum of domestic and commercial sites.
Here is what your typical day will look like:
Being on the Move: You will manage your own schedule and visit multiple customer sites across Dublin and Leinster in your fully equipped company vehicle.
Investigating & Solving: You will inspect properties for signs of pests, tracking down entry points for rodents, insects, and birds.
Taking Action: You will apply treatments safely and effectively to eliminate infestations.
Advising Customers: You will deliver impeccable service by offering expert pest advice and comprehensive prevention solutions to clients.
Reporting: You will write detailed, insightful reports documenting your findings and recommendations.
Work-Life Balance: You will typically work 37.5 hours a week, with opportunities for overtime and premium weekend/night work if you want to boost your earnings.
It’s a mix of independent work and team support — you’ll manage your own schedule but always have backup when needed.
The Cool Tools You’ll Use
You will be equipped with professional, cutting-edge gear to get the job done safely and effectively. You’ll get hands-on experience using:
- Powerful torches, telescopic mirrors, and endoscopes for thorough investigations.

- Specialist Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure you are always safe.
Don’t worry — you’ll get full training on how to use everything safely and effectively.
