What chemical types are filtered by the 3M 6059 ABEK1 filter Cartridges

The 3M 6059 filters (ABEK1) offer broad-spectrum protection against a range of hazardous gases and vapours, including:

• Type A – Organic vapours (boiling point > 65°C)

  • e.g., toluene, xylene, acetone, MEK, solvents, and paint fumes

• Type B – Inorganic gases

  • e.g., chlorine, hydrogen sulfide, hydrogen cyanide

• Type E – Acid gases

  • e.g., sulfur dioxide, hydrogen chloride, sulfuric acid fumes

• Type K – Ammonia and amine compounds

  • e.g., ammonia, methylamine

These filters are ideal for tasks involving chemical handling, industrial cleaning, agriculture (e.g. fumigants), and hazardous material work.

However, they do not filter particulates (dust, mist, or fumes) unless used with a compatible P3 particulate pre-filter.
