Product background (Phobi Caps)
The revocation of Ficam W and Fendona caused a lot of concerns in the pest control industry and for months, it really seemed that nothing will come up to replace these great products to control insects this summer. This is mainly caused by the difficulty and costs involved in putting biocides on the Irish market – most manufacturers do not bother for such a small market.
But Phobi Caps (going for registration nearly a year ago) finally received its registration number (PCS: 100101). Professional pest controllers can use it in Ireland.
Feedback on UK social media looks very promising. The Phobi Caps micro-encapsulated formulation works in less than 15 minutes and protects treated surfaces for up to 12 weeks. It is also the only insecticide ever registered in Ireland that is also labelled for use to control spiders!

Phobi Caps Properties

Control Range
Insecticide for professional use against: flying and crawling insects including spiders, ants, cockroaches, flies, stable flies, house flies, lesser houseflies, mosquitoes, bedbugs, stored product moths, fruit flies, mites and red mites.
Designed for use in domestic premises, food preparation premises, kitchens, bakeries, livestock housing, refuse disposal and waste storage areas.
Surface Treatment
Remove the filters in the front of the nozzle to protect the capsules and use a sprayer with a maximum pressure of 3 bar. Spray 1L of diluted solution over 20m². After treatment, the water evaporates leaving the microcapsules on the surface. Indoors, ventilate throughout the treatment and ventilate before re-occupying the premises (on average 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on the level of ventilation). Clean equipment after use. We recommended wearing gloves when handling the product and to wash hands thoroughly after each use.
Instructions For Use
Shake the bottle before use. Dilute 50ml of product in 5L of water per 100m²
Apply in empty premises onto surfaces that are out of the reach of animals. Ensure animals aren’t able to touch or lick surfaces treated, (harmful if swallowed).
Action
Fast knockdown and long-lasting residual. After treatment, thousands of microcapsules will cover the treated surface. PHOBI CAPS works in less than 15 minutes and protects treated surfaces for up to 12 weeks. Only treat again if a new infestation occurs.
