Protecting Ledges

The Starlings and Sparrows Spikes are used to protect ledges that have a depth of up to 100mm (or 4 inches). These bird spikes are the most versatile available on the market, as they protect affected surfaces from many types of birds. This can be advantageous when undertaking bird control with multiple species of birds. It can also be more cost-effective in the long term.

Length of Strip

Each strip has a total of 61 cm (or ~24 inches) in length. If required, you can also use wire snips or a hacksaw to cut the strip to smaller lengths.

Small Bird Spikes Installation

Our small bird control spikes come ready to use – no particular assembly is required (except cutting if required). In order to install successfully, the entire area affected by the small birds must be covered. If the area is not completely covered, small birds will simply roost or nest around or in between the spike strips.

Each strip of Starlings and Sparrows Spikes comes with 2 fixing clips that can be used at each end. We also advise putting a 12 mm bead of silicone on the entire base of the spike which should be firmly pushed down into position.

The positioning clips provided can simply be used for maintaining the spike strip in place until the silicone has cured, or it can be screwed down (depending on the surface you are installing) for extra strength.
