What is Bostik Sealocrete Sealofoam Expanding Foam?
The Bostik Sealocrete Sealofoam expanding foam 750ml is a high-performance polyurethane foam designed to fill, seal, and insulate gaps in construction and repair projects. This foam expands on application, providing a strong, durable bond to surfaces such as wood, metal, brick, and concrete.
Key Benefits & Why It’s the Best Choice
- Seals Air Leaks & Gaps: Prevents drafts, reducing heating and cooling costs.
- Highly Durable: Water-resistant and long-lasting insulation properties.
- Versatile Application: Perfect for sealing gaps around doors, windows, pipes, and vents.
- Professional & DIY Friendly: Easy to use with an applicator nozzle for precise filling.
- Material: Polyurethane-based expanding foam.
- Durability: Resistant to water, weathering, and temperature fluctuations.
- Compatibility: Suitable for wood, brick, metal, plaster, concrete, and plastics.
Installation Guide: How to Use Expanding Foam
- Prepare the Surface – Ensure the area is clean, dry, and free from dust and grease.
- Shake the Canister – Shake vigorously for 30 seconds before use.
- Attach the Nozzle – Fix the included applicator for precise control.
- Apply the Foam – Dispense foam carefully, allowing it to expand.
- Let It Cure – The foam will fully expand and harden within 24 hours.
- Trim & Paint (Optional) – Once cured, excess foam can be trimmed and painted over.
Additional Tips
- Fill the cavity approximately half full and spray the foam with water.
- For large voids build up foam in layers and spray foam with water between each layer.
- Vertical gaps and cavities have to be filled from the bottom up.
- Do not overfill – Wide gaps shall be filled with several layers (wait 15-30 minutes between applications).
- If applying outdoors, protect the foam by painting or coating it with suitable material.
- Foaming at constructional elements requires advanced fire security standards.
- Ideal construction and insulation foam for filling and sealing of cavities between brickwork and window frames, window sills, roller blinds chassis etc. Insulating of pipeline mountings.
- Not suitable for applications underwater.
- After ending work, flush the adaptor and clean the valve.
Note: Polyurethane expanding foam will not adhere to polyethene, silicone and Teflon
Cleaning
- Uncured product may be removed using EVO-STIK Foam Cleaner or other expanding foam cleaner.
- Cured product can only be removed by mechanical means.
Why Choose This Expanding Foam Over Alternatives?
- Faster curing time compared to standard foams.
- Higher expansion ratio for better gap coverage.
- Improved adhesion to a wider range of materials.
- Reduced shrinkage for long-term reliability.
