Safest and Most Efficient Mouse and Rat Poison
- Sapphire 25 contains brodifacoum, i.e. a single feed is enough to kill a rat or a mouse
- It is effective against rats and mice
- Sapphire 25 can be used indoors for rats & mice and also outdoor around buildings for rats
- It is made of oat grain which encourages feeding
Sapphire Grain 25 contains the single feed active ingredient Brodifacoum on an oat grain which can control mice and rats in one feed. Sapphire Grain is packed into 25g sachets to keep the bait as fresh as possible.
The mice and rat poison is produced using the freshest and highest quality ingredients to ensure rodents are lured to the baits quickly & infestations are controlled fast. The strength of Sapphire Grain offers the user a great solution to control large infestations of rodents when other baits might not work.
Medium to high infestations require a number of bait points. Bait refills may be required to replenish any bait taken. Once bait-take has stopped, the infestation has been controlled, so bait must be withdrawn from the bait stations & disposed of correctly.
Each 150g pouch contains 6 x 25g grain sachets, enough for three rat bait points. Active substance: 0.0025% Brodifacoum. It is used for the protection of public health, stored products and materials. Always read and follow the Sapphire 25 Label before using the product.
How To Use Sapphire 25?
- Check for signs of activity in and around buildings. These can be burrows or runs. Rats are very cautious creatures and will run beside buildings and look to hide in any cover that might offer them a form of safety.
- Place tamperproof bait stations every 5-10m apart where there are signs of rodent activity and in areas where rodents would feel safe and not exposed.
- Place 2 x 25g of Sapphire mice and rat poison grain into each of the bait stations.
- Check the bait 5-7 days after the first treatment and replenish any bait taken.
- Search for, remove and dispose of any dead rodents that are found.
How to Control Rodent Infestations?
- Prior to the use of mice & rat poison, non-chemical control methods (e.g. rodent traps) should be considered. Also consider preventative control measures such as blocking access holes, and removing potential food and drink sources as far as possible in order to improve rodenticide intake and reduce the likelihood of reinvasion.
- Remove food that is readily attainable for rodents (e.g. spilt grain or food waste). Do not clean up the infested area just before the treatment, as this only disturbs the rodent population and makes bait acceptance more difficult to achieve.
- Use rat & mice poison only in tamper-resistant bait stations. Bait stations should be placed in the immediate vicinity where rodent activity has been observed (e.g. rodent runs, nesting sites, holes, burrows, etc.).
- When used for the control of mice, bait stations must only be placed indoors. Replace any mice & rat poison in a bait station in which bait has been damaged by water or contaminated by dirt. Where possible, bait stations must be fixed to the ground or other structures.
- Place bait stations out of the reach of children, birds, pets, farm animals, and other non-target animals. Place bait stations away from food, drink and animal feeding stuffs, as well as from utensils or surfaces that have contact with these.
- Place the bait stations in areas not liable to flooding. Do not place bait stations near water drainage systems where they can come into contact with water. When using rat & mice poison do not eat, drink or smoke. Wash hands and directly exposed skin after using rat & mice poison. Remove the remaining bait or the bait stations at the end of the treatment period.
- Search for and remove dead rodents during treatment, at least as often as when bait stations are inspected.
How much Mice & Rat Poison is required?
- For both rats and mice: Use 50g (2 sachets) of mice & rat poison bait per bait station.
- If more than one bait station is needed, the minimum distance between bait stations should be 5 to 10m apart for rats and 2 to 5m apart for mice.
Specific Directions for Use
Mice: The bait stations should be visited at least every 2 to 3 days at the beginning of the treatment and at least weekly afterwards, in order to check whether the bait is accepted, the bait stations are intact and to remove rodent bodies. Re-fill bait when necessary.
Rats: Place the bait stations in areas non-liable to flooding. Replace any mice & rat poison bait in a bait station in which bait has been damaged by water or contaminated by dirt. The bait stations should be visited only 5 to 7 days after the beginning of the treatment and at least weekly afterwards, in order to check whether the bait is accepted, the bait stations are intact and to remove rodent bodies. Re-fill bait when necessary.
Sapphire 25 Storage and disposal
Store in a dry, cool, and well-ventilated place. Keep only in the original pouch. Keep the pouch closed and away from direct sunlight. Store in places prevented from the access of children, birds, pets and farm animals. At the end of the treatment, dispose of uneaten mice & rat poison and the packaging in accordance with local requirements. In Ireland dispose of uneaten bait and the packaging in accordance with EPA requirements for the disposal of hazardous waste.
Use of gloves is recommended. Dispose of dead rodents in accordance with local requirements. Poisoned rodents should be double-bagged using plastic bags and either disposed of in a
household waste bin with a secure lid to prevent access of wildlife or pets, or collected by a specialist waste contractor. Rodents can be disease carriers. Do not touch dead rodents with your bare hands. Use gloves or use tools such as tongs when disposing of them.
Can I buy Rodenticide in bigger quantities?
Unfortunately, it has been decided at the European level (European Biocide Directive 2018) that mice & rat poison placed on the market for untrained users should not be sold in packs bigger than 300g. We sell the strongest mice & rat poison available on the market (brodifacoum 0.025%).
If you require higher quantities of rodenticide you can purchase several pouches. We offer discounts for higher quantities purchased. If you are distributing rodenticides please contact us directly, we can offer pallet quantity discounts.
